New Orleans Video - Muttshack Animal Rescue - link to  VIDEO (warning: graphic images)  Muttshack is the most effective animal rescue group in the country.  These folks (all volunteers) lived under the harshest imaginable conditions for long sweltering months, rescuing the abandoned animals of Katrina.

In Memorium:  Vine Deloria, Jr.  Deloria, a Standing Rock Sioux who burst into the American consciousness in 1969 with his book ''Custer Died for Your Sins'' and later amplified his message through 20 more books about the Native American experience, died on Sunday, 11/13/05, at age 72.   Ho, mitakuye oyasin.

In Memorium:  Chris LeDoux  1948 - 2005  "I learned a thing that I'd never knowed, from this guy who'd been beaten so bad.  It's better to ride, even if you get throwed, than to wind up just wishing you had.... Life is just like riding broncs, it's a battle... But I'd gladly take ten seconds in the saddle, for a lifetime of watching from the stands."       by Chris LeDoux
